Look at color, surface and structural condition together, not color alone.
Grade A
Highest Condition
Generally fresh-looking antler with strong natural brown coloration, minimal sun bleaching, solid structure, minimal cracking and minimal weather damage. Good overall condition.
Highest-value materialGrade B
Moderate Weathering
Antler with faded color, partial whitening, light cracking and moderate sun exposure, while retaining generally solid structural condition.
Middle-grade materialGrade C
Heavy Weathering
More heavily weathered antler with substantial bleaching or whitening, chalkier texture, heavier cracking, significant weather exposure and more structural deterioration.
Lowest-value materialGrading is not universally standardized. Individual buyers may grade borderline antlers differently; confirm the grade and condition before agreeing on a price.

Scope, grading and actual lot value
Prices are in U.S. dollars per pound for whole shed elk, deer and moose antlers in Grades A, B and C. Exact condition, grading, region, species mix, lot composition and individual buyer requirements can affect actual pricing. Exceptional collector or trophy pieces may require separate appraisal.
History, editions and review dates
The January–September 2026 Grade A history is modeled and illustrative, not verified individual transaction history. September 2026 is Edition 2026.09, last reviewed September 14, 2026.
